Thoughtful kids + beautiful dogs + creative bow ties …. it can’t get any better than this!
Darius Brown, an 11-year-old entrepreneur, absolutely loves dogs and is doing his part in helping shelter pups get adopted. How is he doing this? By puttin’ a bow on it! ‘It’ being a pup.
Darius made his company Beaux and Paws after witnessing the devastation caused from Hurricanes Harvey and Irma and wanted to help lost and displaced dogs… and it worked!
“As soon as I give them a bow tie, boom! Adopted,” he stated.
Darius loves rocking bow ties and loves creating them even more. He has been doing since he was only 8 years old.
“I wear bow ties every day. Every day. Oh, I love wearing bow ties,” he says.
“I wanted the dogs to be adopted and if they didn’t [get] adopted, they’d get euthanized and that would make me sad,” he says.
Darius has a great love for animals and felt that he needed to do something to help them after the Texas hurricanes. To help these poor animals, he donated his bow ties to the New York ASPCA for them to wear.
Darius’ bow ties have even been featured in a New York City pet fashion show. Also, Darius’ bow ties caught the attention of Barack Obama, who just recently, sent a signed letter to Darius encouraging him to keep going and never give up.
“Know that I’m rooting for you in all you do, and I wish you the very best,” the letter stated.
Darius now hopes to further expand his business with an online store.
